D’Feet Breast Cancer 5K Run and Volunteering

Every year, the PRSIG and the Plastic Surgery Department at UTMB gets very involved in the D’feet Breast Cancer 5K run, the proceeds of which go towards breast cancer research. This year’s event will take place at Moody Gardens at 6AM on Saturday October 18. We are asking for both volunteers and individuals to race. It is possible to race AND volunteer for this event. The cost to race is $35 until September 2, so if you want the early bird price now is the time to sign up. I have already formed a team this year so when you register, make sure to sign up on the PRSIG team! The link to register is:

Click on “Adult 5K Certified Run – Team Member.” When prompted to select a team, choose “Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Interest Group.” Information about volunteering and a sign up sheet to volunteer will be emailed at a later date. We appreciate your participation and help in making this event a success!

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for the Medical Student by Chase Castillo

Hey PRSIG, I wanted to share a great resource with y’all. Chase Castillo, our PRSIG president this past year and the newest Plastics resident at UTMB, has created a phenomenal book for third and fourth years rotating through plastics. He wrote the book on his away rotations, and it includes questions commonly used for pimping and much more valuable information to make you look like a super star on aways and clerkships. Click on the attachment below. Thanks Chase!
